Built for Tremor – The 32 level expansion pack for Quake. Tremor looks to re-capture the feel of Quake as it was back in '96 with lo-fi visuals and short, fun level design.


The second level I built for Tremor, and the second secret level of the pack. Again, the original Quake E2M7 served as a point of reference, and I had great plans in my head of how the level was going to look thematically.


Unfortunately for me plans had already been made with how this level was to be canonically a part of fellow mapper Noel's existing E2M4. Taking part completely underground within a large flooded cavern, with an elevator to bring you back into (what looks like) the exit area of his level. Of course, the exit of both levels are in fact not the same location, but it helped tie both maps together to feel like one large sprawling level with a secret detour.


As Noel was the main designer on episode 2, and due to the connection with his E2M4, I made a conscious effort to replicate his design style somewhat with large structural details and areas built at 45 degree angles.
