I had the pleasure of working on the Portal themed DLC for The Ball as part of the amazing Potato Sack promotional campaign for Portal 2.

My role as level designer was to initially design and greybox one of the seven puzzle rooms from scratch. Once approved by the game lead the puzzle could be properly fleshed out visually to a state of near completion before being scripted separately.

In addition to a puzzle room I also created a couple of adjoining sections which connected later rooms together, as well as coming up with the cryptic tagline for the level!

Additional info

The Potato Sack was one of those rare and strange occasions where a super power studio like Valve has the sway to influence the development on a number of indie games for the promotion of one of its own. The idea behind the potato sack was to create an ARG where each of the 13 games involved would provide clues, which when put together could essentially unlock Portal 2 for an early release. The below YouTube video shows an in-depth look at what went in to creating this fascinating work of obscurity!
